Bad Beard, if you get a response, ask them how much Syrian was in it anyway. At this point they should tell you, it's not like we're getting Syrian again.

Will do! I don't exactly have a high level of fluency in German, so hopefully they understand what I am asking :D

It would be nice to know if and when exactly Syrian was switched to Cyprian. I bought all of my tins just a couple of months ago.
You can tell by tin - the Syrian one say Syrian. There's a rumor that they stopped using it before the label switch, but it seems to be unsubstantiated.

There is no intention to discontinue this tobacco. So you will have further on the pleasure to smoke Ashton Artisan’s Blend!

Already before the war in Syria the Syrian Latakia got very scarce in the market and finally distinguished. Predominantly the Latakia is from Cyprus since years already.
With best regards and always a good smoke,
Your Kohlhase & Kopp Team

I thought that Murray made better job than STG when it comes to Dunhill's blends. Artisan's Blend is quite similar to Nightcap and when it comes to question about origins of Latakia used in Artisan's I think it has for years Cyprian not Syrian since the production in Syria has been on ice for long time as we all know. Only blender(s) that has Syrian Latakia might be Hallberg boys at MacBaren and some American blender if my memory serves my right. I don't smoke Dunhill blends but it's right drag to see this famous brand going into history.

My tins just say latakia...oh well, I am sure it is still a fine blend to smoke. I have enough Syrian with my HH Vintage, 3 Oaks and a few others. I am moving on from the Syrian and McClelland issues. It's time for the Dunhill debacle now haha.

A couple Christmases ago, smokingpipes had a Dunhill "Night and Day" deal...5 tins of EMP and 5 tins of Nightcap for $65 if I remember right.

I stocked up pretty well then but I wish I had grabbed a bit more...haven't seen a deal that good since.
