TopD, I use Country Gentleman cobs and I basically gravity filled them with the PA and H&H.
I have both smoked them indoors and outdoors, but on the times when I was outside it was a calm sunny day.
I always use wooden safety matches, Seafarer brand.
I wanted these tobaccos to be "set it and forget it types" that I could smoke without attention or while I was doing things, but on these occasions I mentioned I was sitting down in my chair just trying to have a paced smoke.
I probably was going a bit fast the first time I got bite (my first time smoking them) but thereafter I slowed down and still had difficulties... I haven't tried either of them yesterday or today, but when I dried out the PA for a few hours two nights ago things seemed to be a little calmer.
So steam is definitely a part of the equation. I'm just not sure if it is the full problem...
