My son and I went to Alaska 2 summers back. Ulus are PERFECT for cutting plugs.

How convenient. I just picked up two ulus with handmade handles from an artist who lives near me but spent two decades in Alaska. Alas, I have been struggling with finding the perfect knife for plugs, and appear to have found my solution. Thanks for mentioning that. I'll be trying an ulu now.
