There are multiple videos .
There are absolutely multiple videos. 99% of which are clearly normal civilian/commercial air traffic being misidentified. Have there been actual incursions, into controlled airspace, by drones... or something unidentified? 100% yes. The military has confirmed that there have been a dozen or so. The rest is a result of people hearing about it, pulling their distracted eyes away from their phones and looking up at the, now, unfamiliar night sky. As someone who has spent most of his life in and around NJ I can tell you with certainty that the sky is constantly FILLED with air traffic. Packed into that small area of the country you have Newark Airport, La Guardia, JFK, Teterboro, Morristown, Essex County, Linden, Princeton, Trenton-Mercer, Atlantic City, McArthur, and dozens of smaller airports. Not to mention the McGuire/Ft Dix/Lakehurst joint airbase. As well as the traffic just passing through on it's way to DC, Boston, Philly, etc. This is just mass hysteria snowballing into a panic.

Then tell us that.

Was the Chinese Spy Balloon a hoax?
The Chinese atmospheric surveillance balloon that wasn't working? That seemed to scare old people? Whatev...

The FBI knows nothing?
The FBI is an internal US investigative police force. They do not investigate spies nor UFOs. That would be the CIA and goofuses on History Channel.

This is clearly an FAA issue. But, if they are unregistered drones run by kids, it will take some time to run that down. But, I am still unclear how people think that after a month with no one getting hurt, how this is such a dire possibility.
If the DOD is investigating something that might involve another country, they clearly wouldn't publicly tip their hand, but I really don't see this being the issue.

If I were in charge I would have had them removed from the sky immediately. There would be no question what they are and what they’re doing.
Maybe it’s nothing. We’d know for certain.

My $.02...

-No way it's a foreign adversary. Our systems / vessels would have tracked them the minute they hit the open ocean from wherever they originated. Outcome = government is aware

-No way it's a drill over the most populous area of the United States. These are operational, not in test phase. Testing would be done over the remote southwest (i.e. Roswell). Outcome = government is aware

-White House said they're not drones. I.e. "they're drones but you're on a need-to-know basis." Outcome = government is aware

-Aliens? Maybe. I, for one, would welcome some new overlords to shake up this stale rock.

-Advanced A.I.? See above, especially if the overlords look like the Fembots from Austin Powers

The real concerning thing for me is the fact that they are over the NYC / NJ metro areas. I believe the government is aware of what they are, since they're flying over restricted airspaces. The scary thing is, if it's operational, what are they looking for? There is a reason they've been there but the Gov is not sending the area into a panic. If they said "aliens," "Iran," "conspiracy," etc., all hell would break loose, the likes of which haven't been seen since the days of STG acquiring Sutliff and MacBaren.

Here's a more expanded response from my previous one.

If Picatinny is taking a general stance of "yeah, we've seen some" and that's about it.....I'm certainly not even raising an eyebrow.

Picatinny is the center for the DoD research, development and acquisition of guns and ammunition as well as a weather research center among other things for the US military.

If they generally aren't concerned, neither am I. If they started becoming genuinely concerned, I'd start paying a little more attention.

Beyond that, I consider it all sensationalism. Is it sweeps week?

The best way to operate a spy aircraft at night is to adorn it with lights. Yep.

I certainly haven't seen all the video that exists but the few that I have seen were obviously just conventional aircraft.

People, pilots and law enforcement included, are horrendously poor observers of things in the sky where there is a lack of context and distance information. Even worse if all that is observed is lights. Prime them with pre-conceived ideas of what they might see and let the fun begin.

It'll be interesting to eventually find out what, if anything, is/was menacing the skies.

The Drone Sightings are the subject of “an active federal investigation” led by the FBI, according to a document from the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness distributed at Wednesday’s briefing. The Governor is pressing the US Department of Homeland Security, FBI and Federal Aviation Administration for Answers.

Cosmic. This isn’t an argument I want to win. I hope you win. NJ folks are used to seeing aircraft of all kinds. It’s not Mass Hysteria. People here want answers.

They claim they know they're not from an adversary

So if they know that, they know what they are? Some of these drones they are claiming to be as large as a small car. They are up there for 7-8 hours at a time, seems a little out of the range of just a "hobbyist drone"

The weird shit I keep seeing is hobbyists with full batteries on their drones not being able to to launch them or get close to the "drones" to investigate. There's a handful of these videos on twitter showing this. Some kind of signal jammer? Thats illegal homie.

I'm pretty sure whatever they are, they are ours (USA), or else they would have shot them down already.

I was gonna drive down this weekend to see for myself, I am just curious lol.

If some kind of UAVs were regularly hovering over my area , I would want to know what they were ! Really don't think I should be labeled hysterical , silly or conspiratorial . I'd just like an answer .
