...first time I've ever seen belladonna used in a tobacco blend.

Odd.
vintage pipe tobacco tin Dr.Schiffmann's Asthmador pip Mixture L.A.Calif
Wiki sez:

Atropa belladonna and related plants, such as jimson weed (Datura stramonium), have occasionally been used as recreational drugs because of the vivid hallucinations and delirium they produce.
However, these hallucinations are most commonly described as very unpleasant, and recreational use is considered extremely dangerous because of the high risk of unintentional fatal overdose.
In addition, the central nervous system effects of atropine include memory disruption, which may lead to severe confusion.

Belladonna is one of those plants that is both a medicine and a poison depending on what part of the plant you use and how you prepare it. Tinctures can be made to help with sleep but too strong you sleep permanently. 8O

Researching online it sounds like it was very effective for helping with asthma. It uses a small amount of belladonna leaf and datura stramonium leaf/root/flower. This was also used in cigarettes and powders meant to be inhaled.

Looks like somebody bought it,

I've never looked for them so I don't know how scarce they are,

I never knew such a thing even existed,

learning something new everyday.
