Thank you sir! That’s about all I could dig up also. Didn’t know if maybe the font style or stinger design could narrow it down a little further. I was just curious, it smokes pretty damn goodsometime after 1958 and before 1985
Hell yeah! This one was given to me by a buddy, belonged to his dad who passed away. Figured the least I could do is make it smokable again and give it a new lifeI had a blue spade lark that did the same thing i still smoke it
I’m with you, don’t care too much about looks as it is smokableI have put a hose clamp on mine looks bad but smokes great
Could that be banded?I’m with you, don’t care too much about looks as it is smokable
I understand. I have an estate pipe that has had a very hard life and the rim is gone. Also a Dr.Grabow. Rustication is almost smooth and double carved bands are worn down. It is just a mess. It deserves a retirement in my pipe drawer.I think the split had run too far up from the stem and was pretty wide. Plus it has the Grabow female threaded insert pressed in it. A little miracle putty, toothpick and stain......good enough for this guy!
