i've owned a couple grabows but never an omega. they have served me well. i was going to say you can get a decent sav for 45 - 60 bucks, but seems a moot point now.
incidentally the first few pipes i ever owned were bents. never thought i could put up with a straight pipe until i got that grand duke straight apple (about 15 years ago i guess). now i'm fond of straights as well as my beloved bents.
edit: maybe it's a straight billiard. hard for me to tell.

Thanks everyone. I spent more money than I wanted to, but that's eBay for you...
It's true that I could've bought a new Savinelli but I wanted to have some decent workaday briars that were good smokers, broken in, and already reamed/cleaned/sanitized... I want a bit of practice with pipe maintenance before I shell out for an expensive briar. I'd be afraid of damaging the finish or something. Also, now I'll have 3 pipes so rotation will not be a problem...
I'm still somewhat interested in a new Omega, but I'd like a new Savinelli and a meerschaum first, now.
