Hey guys, so I probably have 100 or so Dr. Grabow and another 100 Kaywoodies. I’m pretty familiar with the brands.

I purchased this pipe not knowing anything about it. Well, that’s why I bought it really. It’s unsmoked as well.

Dr. Grabow “Bard
It’s rusticated on the bottom half and smooth above the bead line. It’s unlike any other Grabow I’ve seen.

Yellow Spade. A Push in vulcanite tenon with a rook stinger at the end.
Does anyone have info on the Bard? Of course I went to Pipedia and pipehil.edu.

Here are a few pics. Thanks for any info if you do have some! - Pete

Nice pipe you got there. I'm not much help and the only Grabow expert I knew is no longer with us. I'd be interested in knowing the answer to these questions as well.

Incidentally you don't have a spare Kaywoodie Centennial do you? ?
There’s a centennial for sale on Craigslist SF Bay Area out of Santa Rosa or Windsor. Complete with presentation case.

Dr. Grabows and Kaywoodie are some good pipes at reasonable prices and are still widely available. I have two of each and always enjoy them. To me, U.S. factory pipes are like 1950's American cars; they just have that special something, the secret sauce.

In the sticks in Mississippi
Check out pipes made by Briarcraft under the name of Smokemaster, one of the models called Bard. Briarcraft was bought out by Dr. Grabow in the mid 1960s I believe. Smokemaster pipes had an odd filter system using a pipe cleaner. Dr. Grabow probably took the Bard name for a series of their pipes.

I don’t. Sorry. I have about 70 Kaywoodies and no centennial. Lol. I did just get a flame grain poker with box last night. :). working on a 95 churchwarden too. Just the stem left. i have 150 Grabows and Kaywoodies and they’re always changing. I buy a few a week, sell some. So can always ask for others too. maybe I’ll have em. For Kaywoodie, I have more of nice restored than ultra rare though. :-/

If you have any unique's I would love to see pics. I think I've only seen two unique's before.
