There is a certain something to the green ones.
They were offered for Christmas 1972 I think, for one year. There seems to be a lot of the white ones.
I will pull out my pair (quit giggling) and take some pics, although they haven't changed much since that thread. They cleaned up nice and shiny and are just 70s-tastic.
I’ve got pipes from all kinds of makers and price ranges but my grabows smoke as good as any I own. You will enjoy it!!!
Have you tried the usual places? They were popping up on etsy once and a while, but we're pretty costly at least to me.
Yeah I am always on the look out. Sometimes they just want too much for what it's worth. There are a few pipes on Etsy that I want right now that are worth no more than $100 but the seller is asking $230+. It's a waiting game.
The color reminds me of old jadite cups and plates that were around in the 50’s 60’s and 70’s
I have a couple of these. A green Color Duke and an orange Viscount. The Viscount is unsmoked and only have a couple bowls through the Duke. I should smoke them more.
I think that the vast majority of the Orange Color Dukes I've seen on eB seem to have burnout on the port-side (or at least a large-ish black charred spot indicating incipient burnout).
I wish Dr. Grabow would start producing these again. I had a red one back in the late 80's, but can't remember what happened to it.
