Doug Stanhope

Haven't seen him live but I'm a big fan of his. I've been following him for several years. After George Carlin died, Stanhope became my favorite living comedian.
I understand that his style doesn't sit well with a lot of people. He can be very disgusting, and I imagine that a lot of people find him offensive. I think he's absolutely great.
I'm also a big fan of Bill Hicks and Mitch Hedberg ...
Dang ... almost all of my favorite comedians are dead. That's depressing.

Agreed. He was without a doubt one of the most unique comics that has ever lived. His style was absolutely his own, and I've never seen another comic with a style even remotely similar.
One of my all time favorites of his jokes, that I use constantly ESPECIALLY if the woman I'm currently dating is within earshot is "I don't have a girlfriend, I just know a girl who would get really mad if she heard me say that."
If she can't laugh at that, well then we just weren't meant to be together hahaha.
