Dottle smoking??? What are you talking about Cos?

Lawrence posted many times about saving the dottle, which is the last bit of tobacco in the pipe if you don’t smoke it down to the bottom. Sherlock Holmes also did this. Then dry them out and smoke them again. The tobacco is stoved by the heat and becomes almost a Cavendish of sorts. I wouldn’t recommend it as a regular practice, but is worth the effort if you are curious about how “cooking” affects flavors.

One can also observe this with the second half of the bowl, if the blend contains Virginias. They caramelize and form a delicious flavor.
Especially with Royal Yacht, but you knew that...
