Stopped by a hole in the wall "tobacco shop" on my adventures today and found two St Bruno ready rub pouches from 2020. Even better they were only $12 each. Aged and cheap
Love it! I was in a B&M last week and found 100g tins of HH Burley Flake. A lamented discontinued blend that *had* to come home with me, even if they were way overpriced (primarily due to my state’s extortionate excise taxes). The tin already has 2 years of age on it.
I walked into the local Davidus a few weeks ago and was immediately waved over by a clerk who slid a tin of Standard Tobacco era War Horse over the counter for me to inspect.
Apparently it had been sitting unsold at another location for years and the manager had it transferred to his shop because he knew I'd buy it.
A while back, I got over a pound of Amphora Virginia pouches at a local B&M extremely cheap. I was stoked. It was a tad dry but still tasted great. Now that it's gone, I'm glad I have a little stash, as it's one of my favorite straight Virginias.
Nice pick up!
It's been about 10 years since I've had some St. Bruno. It was gifted to me in a Secret Santa and came from a shop in the UK with one of those lovely pictures on the label. I really should get some more at some point.
Around 2012 or so I found a couple of 100g tins of Erinmore Flake at a B&M that looked old and beat up. The printing on the tins said made by Murray’s in Belfast, but had STG stickers on them. My best guess is that they were early STG production using leftover Murray’s tins. I believe the manufacturing switched to STG in 2005, but who knows how long the Murray’s tins lasted. Could’ve been tinned anytime between 2005 and 2008 or 2009. One of them is still unopened.
