Don Carlos Two Note

Starting the new year right with a Don Carlos two note. This is my second pipe by Bruto Sordini, and she smokes as great as she looks. Getting old has its advantages.

Don Carlos is a very underrated pipe brand. That is a beauty. I have a two note that smokes FVF like magic.

I'm not sure why Bruto doesn't get the accolades that some of the other Italian carvers get but I have only one but it's a Smooth 3 Note and it's one of the finest virginia pipes I own. I've always found the grading system a little strange for the "named" types outside of the 9 grades using the musical notes.

I have a two note tankard that smokes anything I put in it like a dream and it's light as a feather, I'm always on the lookout for another.

I notice that most of the comments are coming in from us guys who have been around a while. I have collected quite a few nice pipes over the past 40 years. I acquired my first Don Carlos only about a year ago and agree with jgriff that Sordini is one of the finest carvers of modern times. He ain't cheap, but he sure knows how to produce a fine product.

Very Nice. I have a Don Carlos that is a great smoker, though mine has no notes, it is too awesome for notes. Seriously though that looks like a great pipe. I would totally buy another one in a heartbeat. Here is my beauty.

Very, very handsome pipe. I was advised to buy a three note from a very helpful vendor several months ago. Sadly I passed.

Don Carlos does make some amazing pipes, I have six and they are all exptional in every way.

It's my magic pipe. Never had an issue with any blend or cut in that one, but it has mostly become my Symphony smoker.

Yes, they are exceptional smokers! And given that most pipe smokers don't know about them, they are much more reasonably priced than they should be on the secondary market.

The pipe in the OP is just another reminder to me of how I think the Italians tend to do the best rustication around.
