I noticed that there are at least a handful of blends which feature our canine friends. I wonder why this is? Here's a selection, feel free to contribute your own.

Dog good. I enjoy both of these blends and they have awesome tin art. A Roman soldier and his dog? Badass.
Now these are some handsome tins. Looks like there were a few blends in this series:
Pointer, Beagle, Labrador, Fox Hound and Retriever
Not tobacco tins but 2 of my favorite pictures with pipes & dogs.
Have a few of those myself, a number of which I bought because they featured a dog.

As a man who thinks he understands how the world works, I'm not at all surprised to see dogs on a plethora of tobacco tin art. I'm also not surprised that there aren't a bunch of cats on tobacco tin art. There's a lot of good songs about dogs. Nobody writes good songs about cats. Nobody ever made a good film about a cat either. We could probably out-do the Secret Santa thread page count just by talking about good dog movies. Excellence in art requires an excellent subject, and as I believe I've clearly demonstrated, dogs are excellent.
