Does Anyone Have Any Info About Joseph Phillips Pipes?

I came across this pipe in a lot I purchased off the internet. At first I thought it was a Custombilt, then saw the Joseph Phillips stamp. I tried looking up the maker, but found nothing. I know there are ALOT of pipes that have that "wormy" rustication, and some try to imitate the Custombilt style, but this one is really close. Not only with the way the rustication looks, but also on the stem is the 5-point star logo that I believe some Custombilts had, I know that the star is a fairly common logo that several pipe makers use, but it still looks like it could be. I didn't find any of the other markings that were on some of the early Custombilts, so any info would be great. Either way, Custombilt or not, I like the look of the pipe, so it is going into the collection for now. You can see the before and after pics of the pipe in the repair fourms.

Could it be a Joseph Phillips shop house pipe sourced from Custombuilt? The very plain block typeface looks like the kind that are used stamping house pipes.

I have no clue... I couldn't find anything about it, and the only thing I could find was a smooth billiard listed on the E. Hopefully someone out there may have a little info on who or what Joseph Phillips is or was. I am a fan of the Custombilts, so like I said, this one looks too nice not to put into the collection.

Was searching for info on this tin and found this post. Figured some might like to see. Couldn’t find much, but now with all this info I’m sure someone can. Based on what it says. Joseph Phillips was a pipe maker/repair and custom pipe tobacco shop in NYC. I’d love to know anything someone can find. Looked to good with the collection to pass up.
