Do You Think the Tin is Still Good?

I just received a tin of MacBaren's HH Vintage Syrian from one of the site's sponsors and it was pretty badly dented. It had one about quarter size about an inch deep and about 4 more smaller dents. It hissed when I popped the seal so I think it should probably be ok but I just wanted to see what you all think.

If the seal was still intact (hence the hiss e=when you popped it) it should still be good.

It smells great and, while a tiny bit drier than I expected, it's still a bit moist. Thanks for the input, I thought it was ok but I just wanted to make sure before I have some.

It smoked ok so I'm happy. Man, the room note took me straight back to Germany at Christmas.

No reason why it wouldn't be. It's not a food product, where you have to worry about contamination.

Do all tins "pop" or "hiss" when first opened (disregarding, of course, MacClelland/C&D style tab tins)? I ask because I recently got a tin of Dan Tobacco's Malthouse and it didn't pop and the tobacco was really dry, but I didn't see any tin damage. :crazy:

G'day Mick, you should always here a hiss when you pop most tins. I have always found this true and with the exception of one very dried out can of MacBaren I had that was opened by someone and put back on the shelf in store I can say I have never had a non-hisser.

John, yeah, that was my fear/guess. It arrived as the blandest, driest tin I have yet to open. :?
