Luckily, I haven't had a sore throat since I started 8-9 months ago. I won't smoke my pipe if I have a sore in my mouth. Recently I burnt the roof of my mouth on a hot slice of pizza...I didn't smoke until it healed.

Knock on wood I have not had a sore throat in so long that I cannot remember the last time it happened. If I cannot smell or taste anything I don't smoke, it is just a waste of good tobacco.

French inhale was a thing that we did with cigarettes back in the mid-80’s as young teens. It doesn’t seem possible to let the smoke out of your mouth (either by pushing it out or just letting it flow out) and draw it into your nose without inhaling everything that enters your nose into your lungs.
Be careful, French inhaling could be just one step away from finding a partner and shotgunning!!! Now there’s a throwback...

Depends on how bad it is. If eating and drinking hurt, then smoking isnt exactly a pleasure so I dont.^^

Seems like an interesting mix of responses. For me, pipe smoking is all about the experience. If I am rushed, I won't. If I haven't dried the tobacco enough, I won't. Same goes for a sore throat or cold, if it can't be enjoyed why bother?

Let the smoke slowly flow out of your mouth and inhale through your nose.

Interesting. I had seen a friend over 20 years ago do something like this for a smoke trick he called 'the cascades'.
