There used to be baggers, now you bag your groceries yourself

The only baggers I ever came across were the occasional Boy Scout/Sea Scout group doing the bagging for donations.

To be honest I'd rather do my own bagging, that way my box of eggs goes at the top and not under a 5lb bag of spuds.

Here, we have old people who retire and park an RV around lakes, and get exercise by riding buggies to each others’ RVs. Its a warped American dream.

For the record, I rarely go places where I have to use a buggy that doesn't have someone push the buggy for me out to my car. I didn't like having someone push my buggy for me, till my wife pointed out that they were "special" folks. And, everyone had to have them push the buggies. Not like they thought hat I was too old, ha ha.

But, yeh... I would put my buggy up too, at least if they gave me corral to put it in, but I'm not taking it all the way back in.

It is just the social media shaming that goes with it, like tip shaming. To say that there is no reward is silly, this whole thread is a big pat on the back reward.

It was not my intention to "shame" anyone (as if that could actually be done in such a setting) but you've brought that up a few times. In fact, your voice has really been the only antagonistic one of the entire thread. As far as pats on the back go, the main point of the discussion was that there are no pats on the back for such things. One simply does it because it's the decent thing to do.

I never return my shopping trolley. Instead I take it to the nearest canal and dump it in.

All righty, then..... Turns out some regions seem to hire folks to handle trolleys, carts, buggies and those four wheeled things. And others do not.

When early on in the thread I mentioned virtue, it was meant to be amusing. I see only a tiny touch of that in returning carts. Anyone who feels superior for more than 20 seconds after just doing the right thing may need to mature a bit.
