So far I can remember all the pipes I've acquired. Not sure if in the years to come I'll still be able to do so. LOL My wife asks me all the time when I'm smoking a pipe she hasn't seen in a few days "Is that a new pipe?" So maybe I'll be able to slip a few new ones past her and tell her its been sitting around for a while.
I think that's why I made the list, before I can't remember anymore. rotf
As for your wife: beware. A wife is a devious and highly intelligent creature. This could be - IS a test. I have not attempted to say 'no' when the answer is 'yes' to mine; not once. Alarm bells ring in my head when I consider saying no. Self - preservation instinct, I say. Wives do things we're unaware of - like checking out our collection in the middle of the night, while we sleep, to keep track of it, and then asking us a seemingly innocent question later on. Beware, mate, especially if the tone is mild and the look in her eyes, neutral! puffy

I own nine pipes and three briars I don't own now. A few cobs and one beautiful meer that's got a good home now. So except for the cobs which excluding three of them were bought because the place didn't have good rolling papers so we won't count those.

I do remember the pipes I've owned(not a huge collection). Probably because they were "lost" by the movers when I moved to PA, so they're all burned into my mind. haha. With my current collection, though, I sometimes miss a couple if I try to list them.
That really sucks. I would have been devestated!

I knew someone who did the same with tattoos.

"It's not new, I've had it for a while."

A few that eventually didn't work out included a nice looking Jobey, a Ben Wade four-square billiard panel, with a finish that never stopped looking plastic (it wasn't), and a C.E. Carey carburetor. I never could see that the carburetor did anything, and I finally taped it over before jettisoning the pipe. I usually keep a pipe for years before I decide to trade it in or give it away.

No. Sometimes I’m shocked when I revisit. But that’s because I’m a one trick pony and don’t have much wanderlust with tobacco. But I sure have collected my share.

My memory isn’t firing of late. But a times a forum member will reminisce about something and sure enough, I’m shocked to learn I have some!

On edit. Neither is my attention to detail! You asked about pipe brands. Yes. Yes I do because I’ve never gotten rid of a single pipe. Modest collection of 27 briars. Sorry about that!
I still remember that meer you scored from Blue Room. I love that pipe.
