The name Edward Bernays should have come up in this thread by now.
The first 15-20 minutes of this explains everything:

I generally steer away from wearing branded apparel simply because in so doing I would be a walking advertisement for the product and paying to do so too rather than they paying me.
Exactly. Me too. Same reason you rarely see me endorsing other products or companies.

Excellent point. Also relevant: gaslighting, Pavlov, and the "Big Lie" strategy.

Did you not once claim to have a Royal Yacht tattoo?
Just one?
No, I fear tattoos, actually.
But the 'Yacht is great.
Although Brown Twist Sliced is on par, just glorious.
Must be nice to have this available locally.

Would you consider that wine tasting could be just a hobby?

hob·by

noun

1.

an activity done regularly in one's leisure time for pleasure.

"her hobbies are reading and gardening"

synonyms: pastime, leisure activity, leisure pursuit;
Lol. I was being sarcastic with that statement. Regardless of dictionary definitions, what is and isn't considered a hobby is highly subjective.
Yes, I suppose wine tasting could be considered a 'hobby'. But what about regular and daily wine drinking? I guess that's the difference between those of us who smoke multiple bowls a day and those that smoke perhaps 1-2 bowls a week. The first group might consider pipe smoking a normal activity or lifestyle, while the second group might consider it a hobby. Again, it's all subjective. :D

I am so un-hip that the hip has come around to following what I do. It's a talent, I suppose.

I like my bands in business suits, I watch them on TV

I'm working out 'most everyday and watching what I eat

They tell me that it's good for me, but I don't even care

I know that it's crazy

I know that it's nowhere

But there is no denying that

It's hip to be square

It's hip to be square

It's hip to be square

It's hip to be square

The hipsters in Austin are endlessly creative. They got into unicycles a couple decades ago, then those crazy Victorian bikes, then the huge handlebar bikes, then regular fixies, and now people are riding 80s Schwinns around.
Alcoholism can be creative too. Particularly, where to hide the bottles.
