I left for NJ on Monday, and missed the storm of a generation in Louisiana. All roads are basically shut down, all bridges for sure.

My wife took this picture earlier this afternoon. RWD and snow don't make for a good outcome. I guess these troopers have probably never driven in snow. A neighbor pulled him out (he just missed my mailbox).

Just under 6" in my backyard.

Snow at Orange Beach where our condo is. We usually go here to escape the cold. Usually when it is 40F at our main house, here is will still be 80F on the beach. But, not this storm.

We didn;t get any snow at our house. It seems to have stopped at our county line. Everything from the line down was snow.
However, it has been 17ish F, which sucks. We just don't own winter clothes like what we would need to be comfortable. This sucks!

The snowman was piss poor... Turns out building a snowman sucks.

Touching snow sucks in general.

If this happened once a year I might be ok with it. Snow twice a year would be too much, I'd move.

On Wednesday, I some up in NJ and it was 18 degrees. I checked back home, it was 12 in Louisiana.
Parts of NOLA streets are still covered with ice, they had the interstate closed, removing snow in guess.

35 mph with Police escorts on the Causeway. 24 miles of brake checks.

But glad to be home, and it was 59 degrees.

Two of the granddaughters tried building snowmen on Tuesday and couldn't do it. I told them you can't build snowmen or snow castles with fresh, fluffy snow, you have to wait until the next day when the snow has a chance to solidify a little.

I have some friends in SE Texas bitching about the snow, ironically the spend thousands every year by going to Colorado for a week after Christmas.

I hate the snow. Every year I decamp to Tampa from October until the it is half past spring to avoid the stuff! Since early January it has been in the low 50s during the day and wretchedly cold at night. I am actually thinking I might buzz off to Israel or some place like that next winter since that is going to be warmer. I have never visited that country but I have a few old friends from my second wife who live there and providing she isn't hanging around I think I might enjoy it.

Israel has more serious problems than snow, such as Hamas.
I've been to Israel many times, and I have friends over there. Missile threat is very real.

@ziv. Well I that guess idea is out of the window. Maybe the Far East could be a possibility as I have always wanted to rock one of those Pith helmets whilst being surrounded by nubile exotic women! Sadly I don't think Mrs. Condor Lover would be too impressed with that idea. I remember when I was growing up family friends would spend the winters in South Africa which used to be the butt of BBC TV jokes and rather amusing winter holiday adverts!
