This well written article went in a direction I was not expecting. Based on the heading of the thread, I assumed this was a problem pipe that emitted a foul odor or some unpleasant taste. Didn't realize it was for emotional/sentimental reasons.
But...... having said that, I can relate.
I have two pipes that I do not smoke.
One, is my dad's old Medico billiard from the fifties. I had it repaired and restored but I do not smoke it. Can't say that I never will, but at present, I like it in the curio cabinet.
Secondly, is a Bavarian pipe that my uncle bought during the war (WWII). He did not survive and was killed in Italy, but the pipe came home with his personal belongings.....
