You haven't experienced Christmas until you've spent it in Germany. Whole cities in white lights, wandering through the Christmas Market (most cities have one. Munich and Nurnberg are the best) eating crepes (some of the badassest street food ever) and the many kinds of wurst and getting hammered stupid on Glühwein while the snow falls. The Weinachtsmann wandering around (usually pretty smashed as well). To me Christmas doesn't feel like one big damn commercial over there.
Then as soon as that's done it's New Years where you can buy fireworks that would get you arrested on domestic terrorism charges over here.
