Depends, i might revisit. But for blends I know I'm not going to try again I dump them into a jar I dubbed "Monster Mash". Which holds either blends I didn't like or the last pinch of tobacco left in a tin. Every now and then I'll smoke some of the monster mash, makes for an interesting experience.

I will say my only One and Done's are some aromatics that are so bloody syrupy and sickening sweet that they turn my stomach. I've never had an english, vaper etc that repulsed me but then again Ive only been at this in a. big way for 18 months

I wish I could taste the sweetness others keep talking about with aromatics. I’ve only gotten a whisper of sweet at the very beginning and then nothing, most of the time I don’t even get that.

Excluding blends with perique (which I have a body chemistry kind of reaction to) and also excluding heavily sauced blends I am often finding myself enjoying something I thought little of previously. Accusations of a smoke being bland, harsh, green, over powering can all be given a second chance. Sometimes the blend just needed to sit a few years, but more likely I just need to smoke it in the right moment, with a clean palate and relaxed cadence.

The only blend I have tried and returned to try again but still can't enjoy is Blockade Runner. I gave it a few tries in a few pipes over the years and just can't smoke it. I still have about 35 grams in a jar from about 3 years ago.

I've had a few blends that started as so-so that I came back to, sometimes my impression changed, sometimes not. The ones in the latter category I've tried to trade away for something more to my liking. There have been a few blends that went immediately to the garden, I won't ever try them again.

OGS for me. Fresh it was a bit flat, stashed it away and the next year I loved it!

More for you. I disliked OGS so much that I renamed it Orlik Golden Showers.

Two blends come to mind. First is Paladin Black Cherry. Still tastes bad to me and burns hot. The second is John Middleton's Cherry Blend. Still burns my mouth and tongue like a hot poker, like it did in 1967.

Royal Yacht was a little different for me. I liked it ok at first, and smoked maybe 5 tins... I liked the strength more than the flavor. Such a strange taste, like they were trying to make it taste like a plummy VaPer, but failed at it. But, made something else all together.
At the time it was popular on the forums, but there are so many other blends that I really like that I just never returned to it. Not because it was bad, just not as good to me as many other blends. I think I have a few more tins of it that I may try again once it reaches old age, and I need something stronger.

My impression of the topping was that it was added to create the sensation of a tobacco that had naturally fermented, when it had not. The original Royal Yacht was aged and fermented before release. The current clone hasn't had that steatment.

You know the old saying, “You can’t go back?” I find it true. I used to love Burley London Blend, Norwood, Prince Albert, Golden Extra and the entire chocolated burley nation. It’s just not a flavor I seek from burley.

Granger, Pegasus, OJKB, BF#2 and especially Crooner; my top 5—do not give me chocolate notes.

I ordered a few tins of BLB and it tastes like chocolate children’s breakfast cereal. —I can’t go back.

As for wives number one and two? That’d be like putting toothpaste back into the tube or the dog’s shit back into the dog, respectively.

Or any aromatic.

Never really had to go back since there are so many blends out there. But there are two blends I went back for. First was Artisan's Blend. I smoked Syrian version. I wanted to see how other was. Basically same with Syrian being mellow and gentler. Then Back Down South. I can pick out the flavor better now, still a damned good smoke. There are number of GLP in stash for later down the road. His Lat blends were very good. Hopefully, it will remain the same.

I think we have all tried tobaccos we don't like and never will. Any burley dominated tobacco is just unacceptable to me. The stuff us just vile to me.

I've had a tin of Plum Pudding going for a few years. Every 6 or 8 months I get back into it to see if maybe I'll like it. It's always no, but I keep going back to make sure.

Same. I have goopy aros that l knew l wouldnt like but sounded good so l have some in jars. Mixed half and half with Prince albert some actually are ok.

Hmmm... I know way back in the beginning of my pipe smoking adventures, like so many new-comers, I tried one of the Captain Black mixtures and all I got was flavorless hot air and a burnt tongue.

My local B&M guy - miss him dearly - thought maybe I was hard-chugging the goopey-stuff which was frying my tongue. So, he encouraged me to slow down, and, started moving me away from the heavily PPG coated Areos, and onto things like C&D, GL Pease, D&R, ect....

So, that pouch of CB sat around forever and day, and then one day - now, being a more experienced smoker - I thought I should give old CB the benefit of the doubt and see if I might have a different experience than I had those many moons ago.

Can't say I have. Mostly because there are so many blends out there, and I want to explore and haven't been able to justify rebuying blends I didn't like when there are so many options. Unless I have the space and I feel confident the blend will benefit substantially from aging, if I don't like it after 3-5 bowls, I toss it. Life's too short to waste time on baccy that doesn't scratch an itch.

Now, I have had tobaccos I enjoyed at first and don't when I return. Goopy aromatics are the obvious choices in this category, but I find I don't like Plum Pudding as much as I used to. Loved it when I first tried it, but it just doesn't do much for me anymore. Not sure why.

And since people keep bringing it up, I do enjoy me some Royal Yacht. I didn't board the yacht until after Peterson took over, so I can't speak to the Dunhill version, but I like it. It is unique. Like, it tastes like a VaPer that isn't. It's the Velveeta to the traditional mac 'n cheese, or something. It stays in rotation because, for me at least, there aren't many blends that really do what it does, and I do like what it does quite a lot.
