In the semi-rural NorthEastern USA
nope don't pay attention to that. I get sick of hearing about the stock market too, well as thee main economic indicator. To my mind that's like going into a physical having the doctor weigh you and say you're healthy or not. What about every single other thing that can be tested or looked at? And it's also not really what you would call stable anyways.

It may not make you rich, but a useful adage is, don't trade on market fluctuations. Either work with a certified financial advisor you have reason to trust, or do due diligence in finding companies with solid earnings, cash reserves, and if possible, dividends. Balance equities, mutual funds, and bonds, and don't churn the account with every up and down. Or at least, that's what my dad, who worked in the bond business said. He spent his time at home in a lumberjack shirt, smoking his pipe or chewing tobacco, and gardening.

No effect on this old codger- have plenty, but don't feel like splurging on me, though today I brought home a $30 Mousaka and $20 worth of Baklava.... My splurge for the month.
