Tins here are $45 and up. I do my best to buy as much as possible at the local shop but sometimes it is hard.
Same here in FL. No state tax on cigars, so we have about the best prices in the country. Pipe tobacco tins are totally another matter. 1.75 - 2oz tins go for $30 and up. Same online is around $10 - $12.
I buy fairly often from them, though. Last pipe shop open between Orlando & Sarasota that I know of. Used to be over a dozen, with Tinderbox and such in malls.

BROBS mentions Iwan Ries. I think their inventory of pipes is estimated at about 15,000, or was at one time. I have often wondered about pipes I saw in days of yore, if they could be produced at a past price if you phoned and asked. At least I bet they have a lot that they don't show online. If you knew a staff member, there's no telling what they could turn up. I've bought a number of pipes from them. Yesterday I bought my first Falcon, the straight version with the dark brown aluminum stem which I haven't seen new too often online, and at their Leap Year discount price. Independent shops have such limited staffs, I suspect they don't always track the inventory in a consistent way, so they might turn up blends that had been hiding under clutter for a while, or in the back of storage.
