It's deliberately young (5 years) and has a "touch of edge" that makes the flavor more intense than the oldies.
They have been favorites of mine as long as I can remember. When I was a kid, my mom would like me make butterscotch and peanut brittle. Or cashew brittle, or hazelnut brittle. Callard & Bowser was a favorite, too. Just the perfect balance of sugar and salt, and a perfect hard crack, like glass. Butter just over the line of browning without going too dark.
