As far as I can piece together, US retailers get shipments of the Gawiths a few times a year, seems like maybe it's quarterly or around there. The Gawiths, Germain (and with it Esoterica), Dan, etc., are obviously in short supply but evidently still in manufacture.
Anyone have any insight into this? Is it the global thing that has disrupted? Are they producing less because of supply chain problems?
The German tobaccos like Dan and all the Kohlhase & Kopp brands (Rattray's, McConnell etc.) Seem to get sent over a few times a year, maybe two or three times. I know Rattrays at least seems to be once in the summer around July and then some time at the beginning of the year in January. DTM may get sent over with more regularity.
Germain is just a very small family run business that already has low production output and it seems like everywhere gets about one shipment from them a year.
None of this is hard and fast and the recent shipping port issues in the US will likely muddle it further. But that's generally why they're rare in the US but plentiful in Europe, Germain's excluded obviously.
