I appreciate EMP for the taste and complexity, which forms a nice bookend to Nightcap. Sometimes I throw War Horse Green in the middle and noticed they sit well together. Certainly, as others have said, tobaccos grow on you. Or they don't.
Several weeks ago, I tried MM965. Everybody raved. But for me, the blend tasted flat and leathery. So, I put it away and in the meantime, our weather dialed up. WhiteCrown, you're right. It's hotter and my other blends don't taste right in these conditions. Not sure how they tie together, but I packed a bowl of 965 and guess what?
Far more enjoyable now. Maybe it's because upon repeated 'listenings' I come to appreciate the nuances. Or my body chemistry changes. Or the tobacco gnomes changed something in my pipe. Whatever the case, tastes change and deepen over time.
