I officially have no wisdom teeth. It wasn't bad at all. I am bleeding though so not sure if that is great lol.

I'd bet you're going to be sore for a while, photoman. Watch out for "dry pockets". That can be extremely painful. I made the decision today to go with having the temporary bridge work as opposed to all that other work he wanted to do. I figure at nearly 67 now and only six of my real ones left downstairs I didn't want to gamble with having a problem coming off my blood thinners. A leg is more important to me than a couple of teeth. As long as I can smoke and eat with them I'll be fine. Had it not been for the medications I have to take I probably would have gone with the full treatment.

I'm pretty soar right now. My meds wore off and I forgot to take more earlier. I feel alright now. Actually I feel pretty damn good. Meds are a man's best friend!

Meds are indeed a God send. I'd have no leg today were it not for them. I have no doubt about that. Again, be careful with all that sucking action on the pipe. You can create a dry socket and you don't know pain until you experience that.

I haven't smoked in a month and don't plan on smoking for another 2 weeks. I can't afford to go back for a dry socket.

photoman, glad you are feeling better. You should take the meds on schedule so they will keep working and you don't end up in pain. Every 4-6 hours is probably what the bottle says. Soon you will be back smoking, I am sure you must be dying for a smoke.

Yeah if you've got any open wounds like that - the longer you wait, the better...
When I was a kid I had an extraction and nobody told me about dry sockets. Here I was intentionally disturbing and spitting out the nasty stuff that formed in the gap. LOL. Bad times...

I think the longest I've been without a smoke was 3-4 days and that was because I was in the hospital and couldn't walk good due to the operation on my leg. I finally decided to get out and asked for a walker. They thought I wanted to exercise the leg but I had my eye on the elevator. I got to it and the nurse stopped me and asked where I was going and I told her outside to have a cigarette. She chewed me out and said the doc didn't want me smoking and I told her he wasn't there and I was going either outside or home.
When I got out that first hit was like it was the first time I smoked...head started spinning-a definite buzz!! So, you'll have that to contend with when you can get back to normal again. I hope you don't have to wait much longer as I know how I was.

I'm not addicted and don't have an addictive personality. So it isn't a big deal for me to not smoke. I just enjoy it. I'm a pretty chill guy and I don't need nicotine. I appreciate the kind words and advice guys. Thanks.
