Bovineconsumer33's post just remined me of another:

Remember Arnold Schwarzenegger's first big film Conan the Barbarian?

His girlfriend in the movie was Valeria:

The girl who played Valeria was Sandahl Bergman, who went on to a significant career in the entertainment biz and was once featured in Playboy (not as a centerfold) as The Next Big Thing.

We went to high school together (she was two years ahead of me).

The connection? I dated her little sister Nancy, who was my age.

Nancy was actually considered hotter(!), but Big Sis was a killer dancer who offered more than just looks. She danced and acted in pro-level stage productions while still in high school, had lots of drive, etc.

Funny-not-funny: the reason Sandahl didn't BECOME a household name / next big thing, was because she continually refused the casting couch offers of the Hollywood Elite. The Harvey Weinsteins.

She still made a living, but nothing like what it would have been had she played The Game.

Ah!

I keep forgetting the obvious ones.

Never mind Jason Newsted, Dale Sveum, or Sandahl Bergman... their fame and recognizability is swamped by the most accurate shooter of an M115 artillery piece in the history of the U. S. Army.

Rumor had it that when coordinates were called in to hit a particular housefly sitting on a rock eleven miles away, this guy would ask (without hesitation) whether he should aim for the left or right antenna. And he never missed. Hit it dead-on every time.

I actually knew the guy---he was a pipe smoker---so asked him about it once and he just laughed and shook his head. Said the re-tellers got it wrong. That it was a fruitfly, not a housefly.

If you want and awesomely weird and bad movie try "She" with Sandahl Bergman. I think it started me down the road of appreciating campy movies many years ago.

In 2007 on my honeymoon in Vegas I walked by Alton Brown, and said pointed it out to my wife. He heard me and I turned around to look where he went. He looked back and acknowledged me with a head nod.

About four years ago I was going through the airport in Orlando and saw Warwick Davis ,and I assume family, cruised by on a transport/golfcart.

Another notable relative of my ex missus was her great grandmother Alexandra Rhoda Kitchin (known as 'Xsie') and she was the favourite (according to Wikipedia) of several 'child friends' of probable paedophile Charles Dodgson aka Lewis Carroll.

He photographed her many times from age 4 to 16 and the family have literally hundreds of glass plate negatives taken by Dodgson and Xsie's father who was Dean of Winchester & Durham.

Her godmother was Alexandra of Denmark, Princess of Wales who was married to Edward VII.

Here she is aged 14 photographed by Dodgson.

Small world.

I actually did see it back when it was released. Mostly because of the "knew her" connection. Definitely delightfully horrible. lol

Remember Galaxy of Terrror from about the same time? It's on FreeVee if you're interested. Definitely one of the best of the type. Also Saturn Three. (couldn't make it through Humanoids from the Deep, though)
