I feel that way sometimes. At my local independent pipe shop, the owner sees me looking at the wall

of pipes and asks me if I see anything I like, and I tell him I'm trying to find one I don't like.

I notice she doesn't look mad. That's the look my wife gives me when she knows I'm only asking more of a " heads up" not really a "can I". She knows.

I make a big point of having my pipes mailed to me at work....... The less my wife know the less it can hurt me.

A man should have at least as many pipes as his wife has shoes.

You're selling yourself short, I have the opinion you should have as many blends as your wife has shoes and as many pipes as she has pieces of jewelry, and yes ear-rings are two pieces and don't tell me you can't just wear one pirates and gay guys have done it for years.

When I stand looking at a pipe for a prolonged period of time, my wife says, " Just buy the damned thing!".

My wife isn't a shoe woman and I save the jewelery purchases for justifying my firearm buying. Thankfully she is a glutton for Bath and Body Works so that offsets my tobacco buying. lol

My wife says I'm not a Tit for Tat kind of guy I'm a Tit for Tobac kind of guy..LOL we all have our balance. I buy me a pipe, she gets a massage. I buy a pound of some blend she gets a Starbucks gift card.

My wife has bought me pipes for Christmas that I wouldn't buy myself for thrift. I asked for this super discounted

pipe, which she gave me, but then found another, still at discount but four times as much, and gave me that too.

Needless to say, the gift pipes are "permanent party." That's seagoing talk for the people who are permanently

assigned to the ship. Keepers. This is an upscale Sav 673KS Rhody that came with an unfinished inside bowl!

Both pipes are breaking in nicely.

You guys are very funny.
The shoe thing, the jewelry thing, lets not forget about handbags. My wife has so many bags I just don't where she stores them.

I do the same thing, but the credit card bill comes to the house.

I'm with MSO on this; some days you just can't get enough pipes. Eight days ago (Sunday) there were about 8 pipes that I had a hankering to bid on on eBAY, a couple that I would have liked to get new a various web sites and some project pipes that were beckoning me to get them in shape. Between football games, dinner with friends and a LONG Honey-do list (maybe she knew what I was going through) I never got back to any of them. Went to bed quite sad...

My wife was the same way. I've saved hundreds buying her a iPad and letting her buy books online, way cheaper then going to the book store as she reads 2-3 a week and its $2-3 bucks cheaper online. Those savings have greatly added up over the year.
