Decatur Lazy Susan Estate Find

Went to an estate sale this morning and it was finally my turn to score.

Saw a pipe stand with a cob in it and something in the humidor.
Snagged it up and smiled at the $10 price written on the tape.
Decatur Lazy Susan pipe stand, 12 slots, in as close to new condition as a body could hope for. The cob had never seen fire but had been chewed on something fierce.

Inside the jar were 6 old pipe filter boxes and and a totally serviceable pipe knife.

No other pipes were in the house, the family said their dad didn't smoke and were surprised when they found the thing in a closet. Go figure.
My first thought was to sell it on eBay, knew I could show a profit.

But then I loaded it with pipes...

Nope. This one is a keeper!

Definitely a keeper! Looks like it's in great condition. Absolute highway robbery at $10 too. Pipe stands just don't look right 'till they're filled with pipes :lol:

I know it's a steal, several completed listings for this same stand on the bay from 40 to 60 bucks.

I loaded the thing with pipes for listings pics, that's when I realized it was staying with me.
Fits perfectly on the shelf of an end table near where I smoke often.

No macnutz, those are 3 of the 4 Dr. Grabow Vikings I have. And yes, I do like em'!

Thanks ODT. I've never seen one of those up here. The Grobows that is.
That is certainly a keeper. does the seal in the humidor still function?

The seal is perfectly intact as is the ceramic disc in the lid.

Really, the only thing that keeps this one from being considered new is I don't have a box or a receipt.

Definitly a keeper. A 12 pipe pipe rack with an unsmoked cob and a pipe knife for $10. You would definitely get a good price on ebay

Been populated with my older small bowl pipes for a bit over 15 hours or so and it makes me wonder why more of this style rack aren't made with the lasy susan base. Gotta love that the thing spins (-:
I've a similar stand, much larger, that is awkward to use in that it doesn't turn.

Will have to remedy that for sure.
