You can send live animals in the mail?!
My wife buys baby chicks, and we have nothing but good to report about the United States Post Office. The local postal workers call us when the chicks arrive and while there might be a dead one or two, usually they all arrive live and healthy.

I realize I’m getting old, when I hear people bad mouth the post office.

When I was a kid working for the United States Post Office was a great honor and privilege. Bad mouthing the post office would have earned the same whipping as bad mouthing a school teacher or librarian.

In almost forty years of law practice I’ve never had any real problems with the United States Post Office, I use them religiously, and I don’t like it when I’m sent a package by Fed Ex or UPS.

The worst fate any little hillbilly town can have is loose the post office. My family was from Sexton, not Humansville for the first two generations on our farm.

After Sexton lost the post office, a man named Hamlet bought the store, and when he got old he sold out and Emmet Molder changed the name to Bug Tussle.

Everybody’s heard of Bug Tussle.

But few know it’s the site of a town that died after it lost it’s post office.
