I found a old dunhill at a antique store but the tenon was broken off inside the pipe and it was $100...probably should have bought it. But instead I bought a $100 sandblasted stanwell which I'm happy with.

Got the Nording cleaned up it was pretty nasty inside especially the stem, people please clean your pipes! The rim of the bowl was burned and had some funky build up so I shaved it off, and rewaxed it, then polished it. Looking good, plan to smoke it tomorrow. There may be some ghosting though so it may get a salt alcohol treatment. We will see. Whoever the previous owner was he smoked an OTC tobacco in it of some kind, I have smelled this before on old pipes. Hopefully it won't ghost.

That Nording might need some prolonged reaming / salt & booze / smoke some / ream again / salt & booze . If it looks like it's never been cleaned, it probably hasn't, and smoking crappy baccy in it didn't help either, that stuff generates a lot of residue. The last "uncleaned" estate I picked up had so much junk soaked in the briar over the years, it smoked as wet as a glass pipe 8O . Took me about a month of doing the above described procedure to get it to smoke right. This is why now I pick up estates only from SP or my fav sellers on the 'bay that have them "smoke ready".
