Yeah, I'm not having fun at home (North Shore of LI) either. Thankfully, town is lit, and I have a key to the cigar shop. I'm not complaining, I could have fared far worse.I could have still lived on the South Shore.

Doc, my thoughts are with you as a survivor of many Hurricanes, we didn"t have the cold weather and that must be terrible, you must have power. Do you have heat, have had any help offered ? Can we do anything? The old cajun

It's a shame you haven't had your power restored.

I've been watching the "numbers" on the power restoration efforts.

I'm hoping they aren't inflated.

If the efforts continue you should have power soon.

I saw a convoy of heavy power grid equipment headed North yesterday.

That stuff takes time to install, but at least it's on the way.

I used to do the purchasing for a substation packaging company.

I have been impressed with the efforts... thus far.

It just takes time. That equipment isn't easy to construct and a lot of it is manufactured overseas.

Good luck brother.

Sorry to hear docrx. To see the devastation in some areas and to know that some of these people lost both their homes and cars. They have no way out and seemingly, no light at the end of the tunnel. Hope all is back on soon for you.

I am up on the north shore and got everything back up on Friday.

I am very thankful, but I cannot stop thinking about all the people I know who lost it all.

Hope you get your power back soon... Stay warm!

This will give you a whole new appreciation for modern power once you get it back on. We have it all too easy, until we lose it all. Hope you get it back on this week.

Losing power sure does bite the big one. I have lost it a few times for over a week. Never in the cold temps though. Best of luck Doc. As Cajun said, let us know if there is anything we can do.
