Blue Velvet and Hoosiers put Dennis Hopper back on the map, IMO, so Lynch should be thanked for his part in that.

Twin Peaks came along at a time when I was way too busy to keep up, and not watching a lot of TV, and I wasn’t into recording “must see” TV so I heard about it, caught a couple of the first season episodes, “Look, it’s the emotional cop from The Rookies”, but it wasn’t something you could just sample, IMO.

Enjoyed a couple of his movies in particular, and he made a real difference as creative person.

Hoosiers is a classic! I agree Twin Peaks is a viewing experience like no other, not something you can just watch random episodes of and gain interest.

I'm not really a fan of very many people in entertainment, because if a movie is done well, I don't even think about the actors or directors and such. I really did enjoy Blue Velvet, but the rest of his stuff appealed to me in concept, but I just couldn't watch them. Being artists and quirky in college, we had planned to watch Twin Peaks after hearing all of the hype, but I can't even think of a series that was harder to watch than that. I am still amazed that people watched the whole thing. You are better than me.

The music from his work still intrigues me though.
