I have 1 other one (smooth) and it has a date/patent stamp but the shape code is stamped on the briar. The smooth one I have is 1920s.

This one photographed does not have a date code. The stem shape and dimensions are identical to each other. (with the exception of how far the inner tube can go down into it.

Would it be possible that this is 1920s?

Full disclosure I’m asking because I will be selling it soon and wanted to best describe it.

I have an Army Mount billiard from the 70s. I know that because I know who first owned it. There is no marking I am aware of for a precise date. Determining a date range for the shape is about it. I go back and forth on the metal used for the cap. Mine was pretty tarnished when I got it. Seems like the lack of hallmarks indicates nickel or coin silver. At the moment I lean toward the latter.

I’ll probably just leave the date range off the listing. It was in a lot of pipes from the 20s all the way to the 2000s. So, no help with that. lol.
