Dating Sutliff Tobacco Tins

I recently fed the TAD and picked up some John Cotton's and Warhorse Bar tins and am looking to see if anyone knows how to determine the manufacture date. All of these have three numeric digits at the bottom center on the back. Could that be the 'born on' date? these happen to be quite logical, since these are recent purchases. (123 / 1023 / 823).
Going off of other brand date sequences, I can't help but wonder if these may be 1/23, 10/23, 8/23.
Thoughts?

My guess is that you’re correct.
I’m speaking from direct experience when I say, call Sutliff and ask them.
I had a question last year and I spoke to the production manager on the phone and he was polite and helpful.
I wouldn’t hesitate to do it again.
