Bought one today at a rummage sale for $45. Stampings seem to indicate the last-and-latest: "K&P Peterson's" on the military band, "Peterson's System Standard" on one side of the shank, "Made in the Republic of Ireland" and the shape number (313) on the other. Has some tiny dents, not sure if they were fills or if it got dropped. Smoked, but no heavy cake.
I was hoping to resell it, but I'm afraid I may not so much as break even. It's pretty, and the grain seems nice, but briar isn't my usual bailiwick and I don't know it all that well. Is there any way to pin this one down further?
Terrible photo, I know, but I was assuming the key to a more precise age was in description and not visual.
