I took out my Dunhills with the intention of running them through Pipedia's AI. But it didn't work, so I proceeded to use ChatGpt, since I had them on the table. The result was as follows: Starting from closest to furthest: 1935
1977
1974
1939
1959
1978
1935.
Except for the first one, which I think was from my birth year, 1975, the others seem to be dated correctly.

How do you date them, do they have special markings?

Do some of them smoke much better than others?
Are they much better smokers than more run of the mill standard briar pipes like Grabows?

Yes. The big difference with Dunhill is that they have markings that, when combined, allow you to determine the year they were made. There are methods for determining this. In this case, I used ChatGpt. I've never smoked a Grabow, so I can't compare. But I think they smoke just like any other well-made pipe.
