Folks, I luckily found an estate Castello shape 55 that replaced one I stupidly sold 20 years ago. I am having trouble dating this pipe as it doesn’t seem to match with what I read online. The pipe is about 1 ¾ inches high with a 15/16 inch chamber opening. The pipe markings are CASTELLO OLD SEA ROCK, K (no circle), 55, HAND MADE, MADE IN CANTU’ ITALY, AND CARLO SCOTTI (in a circle).

The problem is that the pipe is obviously larger than a single K Sea Rock. Does anyone know if there was a time period when a single K was used on old Sea Rocks regardless of size?

Upper case K ( no circle ) = 1969 through 1984

K designation in non smooth relates to size, however, Castello's are graded in batches. Thus sometimes single K's might be larger than expected.

There will be no castle stamp as it is a non smooth pipe.
