Maybe…. I never mashed barley.
Several different enzymes, already present in the grain, activated at increasing temperatures, break the starch chains down into sugars. The resulting sugar-rich solution (called Wort) is then boiled to precipitate out proteins, hops are added, then fermented. Same idea with other starch-based beverages.

Do you have a link or can you provide a picture from a seed catalog of the different seeds/seedlings available?

I'm curious to see the nomenclature used in advertising/sales.
 
I know that you didn't mean that Burley is a Brightleaf, but what DID you mean?
There is no “Virginia” category for seeds. Brightleaf is like burley in being a category.
“We” pipesmokers and cigarette users think of “virginia” as a category, but if you’re shopping for seeds and want a “Virginia” look for the term “brightleaf” in the description.
