So I really like the danish style egg shape and the like and been trying to find one to buy. I recently got a Nording that I like really much but can’t seem to find affordable ones. I’m looking for something not too big and light, no rustication in the 200-250$ max range. Any carver to recommend and look for or estate Danish ones to watch on Ebay ?

Moonshine Pipes has some really nice (IMO) Danish inspired bent egg pipes.

If you can find it, the Ann Julie designed Stanwell 186 bent egg shape is also really nice.

Genod does a good French version of the shape that impresses me for the amount of blend it holds in a fairly compact light weight pipe. Most of these I've seen are smooth.

Ropp has an acorn that is bent and quite egg shaped. It's moderately priced, less than $100, at SP, and light weight, smooth, with a saddle stem.

Again, not Danish, but check out Tsuge at SP, some nice bent smooth egg shapes. These are in the $180 range.

Both have been mentioned already but let me put in a +1 for Moonshine and Stanwell.

Stanwell is often considered *the* name in Danish pipes, all the big names have passed through there and their pipes are literally the textbook standard for Danish shapes.

But the Midnight Blast (or other finishes too) Bent Egg shape from Moonshine is gorgeous in my opinion. Here's a picture of it from online:

Love the shape/proportions, looks to be a sleek lunter. I will probably pick one up the next time I'm picking up some more tobacco from an online retailer. Lightning bolt logo accent super cool too, I might even refill it with a gold or something just to give it a bit more pop.

I'm a big fan of Stanwell's shape #35 and Scandia's #735 which are pretty much identical. I picked up one of each on eBay for under $50 shipped. Just keep an eye out, that is if you like this shape.

Shape 35, such a classic shape. Designed by Anne Julie. Nice blast on the Scandia (the 7 in the shape is the finish code for the Scandia line). Mine is a Danish Sovereign. I waited a long time to find a nice 35.

The Moonshine shape posted above looks real nice also!

That numbering system makes sense. Similar to Rossi adding an 8 to the Savinelli shape numbers.

Dammit spotted one 35 on SP for $75.Now I’m wondering if it’s a good deal and how much more Canadian customs could add to the price!
