Between the Heart of Alabama and Hot Springs NC
I kind of like the MM stems, although I have ruined mine from chewing. They have a very nice feel on my teeth, which are becoming nerve sensitive to even the slightest of touch from an acrylic stem. I went ahead and order a few replacement stems.
However, the bottoms of these MMs drove me nuts. I burned away my first MM where the intake to the stem reaches into the cob. But, I modified my others by raising the chamber floor with a mix of tobacco ash, saliva, and honey, and they've held through 100's of smokes.
I think of them as my straw hat pipe, great for bluegrass festivals. However, the cops are always checking my pipe fuel to make sure I'm not burning the illegal "high" octane, ha ha.

The only corn cob pipe that I own is a macarthur pipe, and I don't use it that often.

Well said, I can't imagine not having a nice MM and Forever Stem in my stable.
