Here we have the lithe black blast cutty with cocobolo wood shank extension against the classic cross-cut tan blast with horn shank extension. You guys sure know what you like 😂

Some of these pipes are distinctive and the carver may be recognizable to many. Please try to avoid guessing the carver in the comments so as not to influence any voters, but feel free to comment on what you like and don't like about each one. Apparently they have done away with the poll feature here, so please cast your vote in a comment and I will count them when the threads begin to naturally slow down.

Since you are making us vote:

I like the ring grain on 1, but wish it was canted a bit more. Also, the transition to the stem is, maybe a bit more abrupt? Not sure if that is the right word. Still gorgeous.

I like the grain, but wish it had the ring grain of #1. The starburst (Again, might have the vernacular wrong) grain is very awesome, though. I really like the flow and overall look of #2, but it is close and they are both fantastic pipes.

PIPE #1

It took me a while to choose though. As others have mentioned, they are very similarly shaped. I like that sandblast on #2 a lot, but #1 just looks a little more complete in a way. I kind of wish I could see both of them in the same lighting.
