#1. Close call. The shaping of #2 is more appropriate for a pipe calling itself a cutty shape. #1 has more refined finishing thoug, and I love the workmanship of the horn.

These are both wonderful, but I have to go with #1...it's just absolutely gorgeous. It's so beautifully shaped, and the horn mount really sets it off perfectly.

Bakelite.

Here we have a stout little black blast nosewarmer with a horn shank mount against a spiky plateau rimmed cutty with a bakelite stem.

Some of these pipes are distinctive and the carver may be recognizable to many. The color of the stain on #2 is fantastic!
