I just got a Forever Stem. For me the purchase was worth the $20 bucks; they're much more comfortable than the MM factory stems. Got a nice tortoise shell on a bent MM Diplomat, and I really like that pipe.
BTW, I think the Diplomat (and probably the other "high end" cobs) are worth the extra $ too. They're much better built than the Legends and seem to overcome the recent decline in MM cob quality. I have some newer Legends that aren't as nice as one I bought about 12 years ago, but the Diplomat is really nice.
Of course, this is all a good-to-better kind of exercise. The $3 Legends are still great.

Oh and hopefully when Uncle Arthur feels better, I can try out one of his creations too.

Looks great and I bet it smokes cooler than my expensive Savonelli Byron's favorite churchwarden.

Nice cobwarden man. I really like that tigers eye coloration. I have a MM gentleman on the way I'll prob do the same except with a mini churchwarden forever stem and put a metal band on the shank. But thanks for the stain idea. Happy smoking.

Looks great; I really wish I could get a bent Country Gentleman also. Here's my Great Dane cobwarden. I was thinking of staining it with leather stain; I think I will after seeing yours.
