Yeah, nah... I’d be inclined on a clearance sale or dented tin sale... not a CHANCE to win something extra.

Reminds me of years ago, I was running a dvd store and we had a quarter gumball machine. Had a sign if you received a white gumball you would *win* a free dvd. People would spend $5-10.00 for a chance to get a free dvd. Did a few thousand in gumball sales on that promo ?

I think the gambling genes must be on a spectrum. Some people would bet on a roach race, and a small percentage wouldn't make any sort of wager on anything ever. I always hoped my employer would send me to Las Vagas, just to gape at the spectacle, but betting in general has no allure. I don't think I'll be buying any C&D on the basis that I'll win $202. I bet (!) they get a nice little surge of sales from those inveterate gamblers who have to play any game that appears.

It kind of reminds me of the P&C thing, where they ask you to put in your email over and over and over for a chance to win a monthly prize, but yet no one ever hears about who won or what they won. How do we know anyone wins.

But, no, I haven't a single gambling gene in my body. While at the pipe show in New Orleans a few years ago, we dropped into a casino to just beat the heat for a minute. I had never gambled anything, so I scanned my card for $20, dropped it on one spin of the wheel, and immediately started vomiting on the floor. :::shivers::: even the thought of gamble makes me feel like retching. I just work too damn hard to just be giving my money to the lowest form of gangster scum on the planet.

Where NY, CT & MA meet
If I were going to buy C&D blends, the price was good and what I wanted was in stock it would just be an added bonus. Since I live in NY it’s definitely not worth it to me since the taxes almost double the cost for me.

In general I dislike all forms of gambling but absolutely abhor certain types. Lottery falls into that category.

Interestingly lottery works in capturing the excitement of most human beings.
Since I wrote my original post, I later realized that it may come across very one sided.

I love the Vendor mentioned and have had many successful transactions in the past, and plan to do so in the future. Looking from their point of view, it is possibly a great sales campaign and would be successful.

Looking from consumers point of view (Mine) I don’t like it, and will generally not participate in such sales campaigns.

Businesses have been doing these kinds of promotions for decades…

But I suppose if it’s offensive to some people they could send the money back… and tell them to zero out their Kathy’s Cash balance while their at it. ???

I've yet to purchase from them. They are on a list to try. It isn't this type of gimmick that draws me. It's word of mouth.
I remember in the 1980s we'd get mail. Come look at this property and win a prize. Lol. A toaster at bank. Free car was with full service gas.
Congrats to the winners.
