Been trying to figure out the stokkebye Cube Cut.

Why is it popular, when you can barely get enough suction through the huge gaps to get smoke into the stem.

You may be packing way too tight and/or tamping too firmly (and too often). As suggested above, gravity fill or codger scoop, tap the side of the bowl gently to even out the fill, and sprinkle some lightly rubbed-out cubes on top to serve as kindling. Light and go. If you need to tamp, do so with an ever-so-light pressure, far far less than you would with ribbon. You’ll have a much better smoke as a result.

I don’t have any issues smoking this blend. You may be packing too tight. I just let the cubes fall into my bowl and I do not press down. It works for me.

With PS41, I do a lot of tapping of the side of the bowl to settle the contents. Like, I'll codger-scoop it so it's overflowing, and then tap-tap-tap-tap until the level is below the rim again. If that still gives trouble, you could try mixing in some ribbon cut before filling, so it's easier to "conduct" the flame to the cubes. Good luck.

I'm smoking cube cut burley right this minute. Sounds like you might be packing too loosely? Like others, I usually codger scoop from the bag or gravity fill, then give it a good tamp. I smoke this a lot, but now that I think about it, it does require regular tamping as you smoke.

Let us know if any of this helps.

That's how I've done it. But for some reason every puff I want, requires to get my lighter into play.

I think that's generally true - cube cuts smolder so low sometimes that a relight is required.

I sometimes mix a ribbon cut with the cubes just to get a better burn - I recognize that may not be desirable in all cases.

Watch City Deluxe Crumb cut (very similar cut) is a fantastic option. Rubbing the cubes out or smashing some of them as mentioned above usually helps get things going.
